You cast me out when I was born
to mend the wounds that once were torn.
To find the ties to bind us all,
the task you set was not too small.
I yearned and dreamed and thought of you
but didn't do what I needed to.
And now you morn and grieve in pain
and need to find peace and strength again.
And so I vow I'll try my best
and will not stop until I rest.
On your dear land my spirit's home
where rays of sunlight once had shone.
Now there are fires and violence reighns,
the people all argue and complain.
The golden light that held us firm,
has now gone dark not to return.
The laughter in the children's eyes,
has been replaced with wales and cries.
The pride in the older generation,
has been replaced by a torn and bitter nation.
A ship without a beacon of hope,
with broken sails and ragged rope.
Onto this land one day I'll come,
And sing songs that are yet unsung.
But I ask not for fortune nor for fame,
nor even for you to remember my name.
My wish is simple and unadorned.
To help restore freedom to where it was born.
And to remain forever more,
in the one place that I adore.
Zito Ellada! Esena agapo.
Aw, I love it! Its very good! *Smiles.
